Shilajit FAQ – Questions and Answers
Shilajit is a natural resin found in high mountain regions such as the Himalayas. It forms over time from organic and mineral material compressed between rocks. After collection and purification, it is used as a traditional natural substance.
As a general guideline, many people dissolve a small amount of resin (approximately the size of a grain of rice) in warm water or tea. It is commonly used once per day, following the instructions provided with the product.
Shilajit has a naturally strong, earthy and slightly bitter taste, which is related to its mineral and organic origin.
Store in a cool and dry place, tightly closed and protected from direct light. Do not refrigerate. Keep out of reach of children.
Resin is closer to the traditional format and typically requires less processing. Capsules and powders go through additional production steps and may include added ingredients depending on the formulation.
Authentic resin is usually black or very dark brown with a sticky texture at room temperature. When slightly warmed, it becomes softer and dissolves well in warm liquids.
